A2L Refrigerant Safety and Flammable Refrigerant Training

Effective July 1, 2025, all Q-01/Q-99 holders applying for renewal must submit evidence of having completed the A2L Refrigerant, Safety and Flammable Refrigerant Training Course.

All A2L Refrigerant Safety and Flammable Refrigerant training must comply with the general training school accreditation procedures, standards and requirements set forth in R113-04.

The A2L training course will consist of seven hours of training through live instructions at Radiant. The course instruction will include Fire Code, Building Code and Rule requirements associated with A2L Refrigerant, safety and flammable refrigerant provided by FDNY.

Students must attend the seven hours of training. The students will be allowed two (2) opportunities to pass the examination. The passing score is 70%. If the participant fails the exam twice, then they must re-pay, re-sit and re-test.

The participants must submit proof of attendance and passing the A2L course upon re-certifying and submission of the renewal application. Radiant will provide participants with a certificate indicating attendance and passing the course examination.
