Eight-Hour Pre-Assignment Training Course for Security Guards

Classes are scheduled on Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 566 Seventh Avenue, Suite 602, between 40th and 41st Street.

$200.00 is paid to Radiant Training & Consulting, LLC for the Eight Hour Pre-Assignment Training Course for Security Guards ($80.00) and the Sixteen Hour On-the-Job Training Course for Security Guards ($120.00).

$36.00 is paid to the New York State Department of State, Division of Licensing Services for the Employee Statement and Security Guard Application.

$104.50 is paid to Idemia IdentoGo for fingerprinting, the FBI criminal background check, and New York State Department of Criminal Justice Services fees.

Attend the Eight Hour Pre-Assignment Training Course for Security Guards.

Pass a school exam consisting of 25 multiple-choice questions at the conclusion of the course. The passing grade is 70%.

Radiant issues a certificate indicating completion of the Eight Hour Pre-Assignment Training Course for Security Guards.

Prepare a $36.00 money order to pay the New York State Department of State, Division of Licensing Services to process the Employee Statement and Security Guard Application. This fee is not paid to Radiant Training & Consulting, LLC.

Make an appointment with Idemia IdentoGo by calling (877) 472-6915. The Service Code is 1545R1. The current fingerprinting, FBI background check, and DCJS fee is $104.50. This fee is not paid to Radiant Training & Consulting, LLC.

Mail the Employee Statement and Security Guard Application, the Radiant certificate, one fingerprint receipt from Idemia IdentoGo, and the $36.00 money order to NYS Department of State, Division of Licensing Services, P.O. Box 22052, Albany, NY 12201-2052. The license generally takes an average of three weeks to reach your home.

Attend the Sixteen Hour On-the-Job Training Course for Security Guards within 90 days of the first security job or by the time the license expires. Licenses expire after two years. Students pass a 25-question school exam with a passing grade of 70%.

Attend the Eight Hour Annual In-Service Training Course for Security Guards every year to keep the license active.

To renew, complete the license renewal form that New York State mails to your home, submit a $25.00 payment, and mail the form and payment to New York State in the envelope provided.

To renew, you must be up to date with the required courses, including the Sixteen Hour On-the-Job Training Course for Security Guards and two Eight Hour Annual In-Service Training Courses for Security Guards since your last renewal or issuance two years ago.

If your license expired more than six months ago, complete a new Employee Statement and Security Guard Application, prepare a $36.00 money order for the application processing fee, make a new Idemia IdentoGo fingerprint appointment using Service Code 1545R1, and mail the application, one fingerprint receipt, and payment to NYS Department of State, Division of Licensing Services, P.O. Box 22052, Albany, NY 12201-2052. A new license generally takes an average of two weeks to reach your home.
